CARBON BENDING TECHNOLOGY (CBT)

A New Dimension in Shaft Engineering Every golf shaft is a balance of weight, flex, torque, and feel. Conventional shaft design requires compromises between these characteristics. A shaft that is lighter and more flexible may generate greater clubhead speed, while a stiffer profile often inspires confidence and control for stronger players. MetaFlex Carbon Bending Technology (CBT) was developed to challenge those traditional limitations. Built upon the performance foundation established by our award-winning FreeFlex Technology (FFT), CBT introduces an entirely new stage in shaft manufacturing that allows us to influence shaft feel independently from its measured flex characteristics. The result is a shaft that retains the speed-generating benefits of a lighter, more flexible design while delivering the solid, connected sensation preferred by many accomplished golfers. HELICAL CARBON REINFORCEMENT At the heart of Carbon Bending Technology is a proprietary manufacturing process that helically wraps an ultra-thin carbon band around carefully selected sections of the shaft. Unlike conventional reinforcement methods, this additional carbon structure is designed to enhance perceived firmness without fundamentally changing the shaft's original CPM flex or torque characteristics. The geometry of each carbon wrap—including its width, spacing, orientation, weave pattern, and material composition—can be precisely adjusted to influence how the shaft bends, loads, and recovers throughout the swing. This creates an unprecedented level of engineering flexibility, allowing individual shaft characteristics to be refined with remarkable precision. FEEL WITHOUT COMPROMISE Traditional specifications tell only part of a shaft's story. While weight, CPM, and torque remain important measurable values, they cannot fully describe how a shaft behaves dynamically during a golf swing. CBT allows MetaFlex shafts to deliver a sensation that many golfers describe as significantly firmer than the published specifications would suggest. VALIDATED THROUGH PLAYER TESTING During prototype testing, experienced golfers using premium aftermarket shafts with swing speeds ranging from 100–120 mph evaluated MetaFlex without knowing its measured specifications. Many reported that although the shaft felt slightly softer during the waggle, it became remarkably stable once the swing began. Testers consistently described: - A firmer impact sensation than expected - Higher launch with reduced spin - Increased carry distance - Excellent stability through impact When informed that the tested shaft measured 190 CPM with 5.5° torque, many were surprised that it delivered a feel comparable to significantly stiffer tour-profile shafts.
