METAFLEX ix90 - HYBRID/UT ($200 ea) Length: 40" uncut Weight: 89g uncut Flex/Torque: 350 CPM / 2.5 TQ Type: 0.355" Tapered tip Recommeded for average driver swings speed from 100mph and higher The new 20026 MetaFlex ix90 iron / hybrid shafts in black amber carbon are the ultimate culmination of SJ Lab's know-how and technologies. Consisting of total 7 layers of premium carbon material and CBT technology to reinforce the tip and butt sections, the ix90 shaft is a stark contrast to most other carbon shafts on the market, which rely on epoxy to get the weight up and cost down. In fact, iron shafts in the 90-gram range made with little or no epoxy or glue is virtually non-existent due to the cost and difficulty of manufacture. The resulting ix90 shafts are lighter and faster, yet incredibly stable and solid at impact to transcend the previous boundaries of carbon iron shafts. In addition, the uncut length at 41" allows the shaft to also be used for Hybrid and Utility clubs. The ix90 premium shafts are aimed at elite level of golfers who seek both feel and controllability while being forgiving on distance and direction. Moreover, for short irons and soft approach shots, the CBT technology on the tip and butt end allows the club head to react as intended to inspire confidence throughout the swing. We believe the shafts will be favored by elite amateurs and tour-caliber players looking for both precision and crispness in a firm feel that was previously missing in non-steel shafts.
